Yesterday I woke up feeling extremely relieved that I finally was going to have a Monday off. As I laid in bed, easily succumb to the laziness that a new week has brought to me, I made sure to make a plan for the day and be productive rather than waste my time on video games or pointless commenting on Facebook. I peaked outside to gauge what the day would be like, in order to have a better idea of what I could accomplish. As if I couldn't tell already by hearing the "swooshing" noise of the cars passing by, the forecast for that day was RAIN! Gloomy, cloudy, freezing, RAIN! While the normal person would think to stay indoors, go Christmas shopping, stay home and clean, or simply watch a movie in bed, I was thinking just opposite. " What a great day to go to the beach!" I quickly called a good friend of mine, Vin, asking him what the surf report was for our favorite surf spot. He replied saying it would be around 5 feet. Good enough for me! I geared up, and made my way to the city. I forgot that my stupid window came off of its track a week ago, and the rain was just pouring into my car, leaving my left arm and leg soaked. But I didn't let it get to me, i was more pumped on the fact of surfing in the weather. After meeting at a local sandwich shop Little Lucca, which is amazing by the way, we headed towards the beach. Upon arrival, our gaze was stuck on the flatnesss of the water. Crazy weather, no waves?! Whats going on? We waited for a few minutes before finally I told Vin I would just take pictures of him surfing, and for him to get a half hour head start. As he got ready I carefully set up the tripod and camera and eagerly awaited some great shots. Standing in the rain, fighting the crazy beach winds, I snapped a few nice shots of Vin and the surroundings, then grabbed my board to join him. We had a good session, maybe about 2 hours, then decided to pack it up and leave. As we left I noticed a small itch in my throat, but simply brushed it off blaming it on the salt water and freezing temperature. Well now, I woke up this morning sick as a dog! My nose is running, throat is killing me, and i'm definitely feeling weak. So after going to work, and being sent home early, I decided to be prductive still, and finally start this blog. Welcome, and thank you for reading!
